A different theater feat, intimately
+

The ACTORS’ PLEYGRAWND embarked on its first collaborative project with installation artist Ms. Ling Ramilo on Nov. 28, 2008 and also marked its formal launch into the Philippine theater scene.
Loaded with sheer imagination and drive, multi-awarded actor Soliman Cruz, together with Roence Santos, in tow, a group of young actors waiting for the cue, the vignettes for each of the installed pieces of Ramilo’s work at the Green Papaya Gallery, became the subject for an hour-and-a half long synergy of acts, dances, monologues, music, and poetry.
That evening also marked the kick off of Actors’ Pleygrawnd’s series on the “Theatrical Conjectures — Theatrical Possibilities” trek that will make waves in bars, cafés, and art galleries.
The evening was a triple treat for the group — aside from its formal launch, it also marked the double birthday celebrations for Actors’ Pleygrawnd member-filmmaker Emman de la Cruz and the artist Ling Ramilo.
Here are some photos of that eventful evening —

We are grateful for the best and unmatched support of the following, without whom our feat could have been insurmountable:
Green Papaya, Ms. Christine ‘Ling’ Ramilo for her installation art, Allan Peñaredondo for the photos, Emman de la Cruz for the cake, young playwright Niel de Mesa for ‘Subtext’, Mediatrends for logistics and those who we may have not mentioned, yet are doubly indispensable. ♥
